Project Import: Subaru WRX STi Timing Belt Pulley Tensioner Bearing Goes Bad. Very common on 60k+mileage Subarus, the smaller idler bearing goes bad, due to age, its size, and how fast it is spinning all of the time. It is recommended that these are replaced when doing a timing belt service. If this were to seize while driving the car, it would eat the timing belt and you bend some valves.
